Living up to our explosive year, Bullet has gone out with a big (stylish) bang revealing the Stage 2 opening for Wintergarden shopping mall, in the form of a 43m long, 4m high outdoor signage installation.

The high impact design is a focal point in Brisbane's popular Queen Street Mall and marks a new beginning for the shopping centre's next developments.

If you don't have a chance to see it in Brisbane this Christmas, here are a few shots.

At Bullet we like to keep things interesting and always enjoy working with clients and on briefs that come from outside the "usual box". So when KDPR and Bothar Boring and Tunnelling, asked us to make them a brand new website to coincide with their increasing International recognition, we jumped at the opportunity.

Our aims were to:

- incorporate the new branding consistently throughout the site

- modernise the website with a full CMS solution

- simplify navigation and usability to showcase content at it's best

- make 'Boring' more interesting!

It’s September in the City of Brides and instead of blacking out the windows with Bridget Jones and 2kg of chocolate, this year, we thought we’d join them.

Queue our good friend, Bespoke Letterpress Boutique. Together, we would like to invite you to celebrate in the marriage between fine printing, and beautiful design.

We wish Samantha and Benjamin all the best for the future, and a fantastic celebration this weekend!

Wintergarden piecexpiece campaign

We told you we'd keep our promise!

Another exciting project we'd like to share with you is this year's piecexpiece campaign for Wintergarden shopping centre in the Brisbane CBD.

We designed and produced a range of collateral, including large-scale signage, an interactive bus shelter, and a puzzle app on Facebook that helped increase their friend base significantly and launch the opening of the stage one renovations with a bang! The game has now come to an end, but you can check it out in the images below.

We’ve brushed away the cobwebs, we’ve dusted the keyboards, we’ve even put on a fresh shirt, to bring you:

BULLET’S FIRST BLOG POST SINCE 2010!

Now, while our blog may have had the sleeping beauty syndrome for the last 10 months, the Bullet studio has been buzzing along at full force! In fact, we’ve been so busy that since our last post, the Bullet team has expanded by an extra two lovely & amazing designers. And we’ve decided that it’s high time to share with our friends exactly what we’ve been up to.

Starting with our squeaky clean online store for Alphamale Skin Care. We began this project towards the end of last year, starting with brand development, right through to front-end design and web development.

"GUNS & lollipops"

Finally we have some pictures to show you! We've been getting creative at Bullet again and have done a new chalk mural at the entrance of our Sydney studio.

We didn't do this alone though... our friend Drew Fellows came in to share his talent and have some fun with fancy new liquid chalk pens we bought. Drew has more of his work over on his website here.

Loving fashion

Our lovely client Brookside Shopping Centre is showing customers how to look stylish at their exclusive fashion workshops. To publicise the events we were called upon to create some very special fashion illustrations. This illustration created for the Cheap & Chic spring workshop features a beautiful girl with watercolour effects and some fun accessories. Love it!

We applied these illustrations to invitations, posters, banners and billboards, which resulted in a full house at the first spring event.

Hoarding treatments look fantastic and are worth the effort on a long term retail vacancy project under construction – adding colour and life and re-inforcing your brand.

We loved creating this one for Toowong Village and looking at it makes us want to lie in the grass and eat ice cream!

The Rocks Aroma Festival!

The sweet smell of coffee lured me to The Rocks this weekend, to attend the Aroma Festival. It was all about coffee, chocolate, tea and spice - which I happen to like! Apart from the enormously long lines you had to wait in to receive your coffees, this was a fun day out and fantastic to see the streets jam packed with other like-minded coffee punters!

Masterchef hits Toowong Village

A big crowd gathered last Friday and Saturday, as our client Toowong Village treated their customers to an up close and personal meeting with Skye Craig (former Masterchef 2 contestant). Skye entertained audiences cooking up her famous chocolate/avocado mousse.

Delicious!

We were very happy to help out with promotional material for the event including Banners, Posters and Point of Sale as well as Press and Website advertising. It was a great event enjoyed by all!

Sydney's smokey sky!

Due to the 'burn off' in the Blue Mountains, our lovely Sydney town is filled with smoke! Makes for some very pretty pictures with hazy yellow light from our window... but my lungs aren't loving it! Would love some fresh air right about now! *cough *cough!

ARIA Restaurant invitation

Recently, we had the opportunity to design a beautiful invitation for Matt Moran's ARIA Restaurant in Brisbane. For their Autumn theme, we chose a lovely image of leaves which we printed onto gold stock and mounted to a textured cream stock on the back. Simple, but very effective.

Just arrived! Two invitations for Cloud Nine. Printed on the gorgeous Rives stock which gives a lovely texture to the cards. We also had some stickers made which wrap around the black envelopes to finish them off nicely :)

Now that daylight savings is over in Sydney, we are treated to some very pretty sunsets each night. This is the view from our studio window. Photos really don't do sunsets enough justice, the intensity of the yellows, oranges, purples and blues are just amazing!

Cloud Nine invitation: New brand to hit Australia soon!

We have just received a sample of the Cloud Nine invitations we designed recently. They were hard to photograph, but these little beauties look just lovely, if we do say so ourselves! They are A5 and are printed with black ink on a gorgeous metallic silver stock (Lustralux by Doggetts) and then mounted to black card. The guest names will be written in silver pen which will add a nice personal touch!

Semi-Permanent | Sydney 2010

Bullet attended the 2010 Semi-Permanent in Sydney on Friday and Saturday for a fun-filled, inspiring 2 days! We listened to 12 speakers but the stand out was definitely Jessica Hische with her gorgeous type portfolio ('Daily Drop Cap' example above) and very entertaining speech.

We also really enjoyed Frankie Magazine, Mel Kadel, Tin & Ed, & Jasper Goodall - all very inspiring :)

This week we've completed a new identity for Foodcert. We've kept the brand fresh and contemporary (it's their job to ensure our food in the grocery stores is fresh!) - creating a clean look that will be easily adaptable across a whole range of marketing collateral.

We're off to Semi-Permanent

We are so excited! We have just purchased tickets to Semi-Permanent! This year it's on March 19&20th at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre - we've never been to the Sydney one, so will be something to look forward to.

Looks like there's some great creatives up this year - including the girls from Frankie Magazine!

Bullet attends Kickstart 2010 Conference

Last week Bullet was invited as a Marketing and Branding partner for the Kickstart 2010 Conference, an Australasian event for boutique property agencies. Judging by the initial response, many agencies understand the importance of good branding and 'standing out from the crowd' in a competitive martket. Stay tuned for some 'before and after' shots as we weave our design magic.

Our chalk mural is complete!

This week has been very exciting indeed. We commissioned a very talented Mural Artist, Stephen McGeown, to illustrate a beautiful chalk mural on our freshly painted blackboard wall at the entrance of our studio. We are so chuffed with the results! Today our Sydney-inspired tigers, zebra's and bee's have come to life!

Today our big divider wall was painted with beautiful blackboard paint, creating a huge new exciting canvas for us! The new studio is still having a few cosmetic finishes done but it's almost there! Now time for the artwork!
